Formerly known as Longridge Farm, this family farm traces its agricultural roots to 1801, with eight generations of the Hodsdon and Bird families caring for the land, adapting with the times, and carrying forward a deep respect for New Hampshire farming. Along the way, the farm earned a special place in state history as home to New Hampshire’s very first registered farm stand.

Today, Picnic Rock Farms remains the kind of place where a quick stop can easily turn into a basket full of local favorites. The farm specializes in fresh fruits and vegetables grown right on the property, complemented by homemade jams and jellies and a tempting selection of baked goods. Visitors have been known to rave about the strawberry rhubarb pie, whoopie pies, fresh breads, and the simple pleasure of produce that hasn’t traveled far to reach the table.

Behind all that good food is a long-standing commitment to thoughtful stewardship. Across generations, the farm has embraced innovative conservation practices while continuing to grow the fruits and vegetables its community looks forward to each season. For those who want to make Picnic Rock Farms part of their weekly routine, the farm also offers Community Supported Agriculture shares. Both summer and fall CSA programs give members a chance to enjoy the changing harvest throughout the growing season while directly supporting the people who grow it. Summer CSA members receive ten weekly pickups of fresh farm-grown fruits and vegetables along with a loaf of bread from the farm bakery. Shares purchased by March 15 receive a 20% discount, with Tuesday and Thursday pickup options available.

There’s even something for those who would like to bring a little more of the garden home. Picnic Rock Farms offers a flower and herb CSA featuring an herb of the week paired with a bouquet of freshly cut flowers grown on the farm. CSA applications begin in February.
