Small Equipment Demonstrations for Vegetable Farms – Part INOFA-NH
April 21, 2012
9:00 am -12:00 pm (rain date April 28th)
Red Manse Farm, Loudon, NH

The farmers at Red Manse Farm will present and demonstrate a range of planting equipment used by market gardens and small commercial vegetable farms. Equipment featured will range from hand tools to two-row tractor drawn tools. Direct seeding and transplanting of vegetable crops will be covered, as well as, seeding of cover crops and using plastic mulches. Red Manse grows certified organic vegetables at Loudon Center and began operating in 2006, selling to both consumers and food businesses.

Cost: $5.00 per person, pay at the door.

Hand tool demonstration for gardeners and commercial growers. Weeding, seeding, transplanting, cultivating and harvesting tools will be demonstrated and you’ll get a chance to try some hands-on practice as well as hammer in a few ground posts to show the beginning of setting up a high tunnel
