Erin Allgood

Erin is dedicated to building a more resilient and sustainable food system in New Hampshire. Erin brings her extensive knowledge of food systems, leadership skills and enthusiasm to her consulting business, Allgood Eats Local. Her clients have included the Hillsborough County Conservation District, NH Association of Conservation Districts and, most recently, NH Kids Count where she will serve as the project lead for the Hunger Solutions Coalition.

Erin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Wheaton College and a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of New Hampshire. Additionally, Erin holds a certificate in Leadership in Sustainable Food Systems and Sustainable Business, both from the University of Vermont.

Erin established the Food Education Network in 2012, a non-profit dedicated to helping low-income families use fresh, local foods through education and cooking demonstrations. Erin currently serves as a SNAP Committee member for Seacoast Eat Local and has a keen interest in making good food accessible to everyone.

 Helen Brody – President (Founder)

Helen is the author of the book New Hampshire:From Farm to Kitchen (2004). Because in researching the book, she was unable to locate a central source to convey the unique history of each farm, its location, products, and personality, she founded the New Hampshire Farms Network (www.nhfarms.net)  in 2008. The goal of NHFN is to rally community support of New Hampshire’s farms. Purchases at farmers markets, farmstands, restaurants, local markets, schools or at a farm’s back door, assures a healthy population, secure and flavorful food, and the open land on which it is grown.

Helen is the winner of the 2015 Andrew L. Felker award presented by the NH Farm & Forest Expo for “fostering the economic advancement of agriculture”.  A former member of the advisory board of the Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food http://www.agriculture.nh.gov/  and a director of the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, She is the co-author of the recently published New Hampshire Women Farmers: Pioneers of the Local Food Movement(2016).

James E. Larrick (Treasuer)

Vice President, Commercial Lending Mascoma Bank
Jim has been with Mascoma Savings Bank since 2013 and serves as Vice President of Commercial Lending.

He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. Jim relocated to the Upper Valley in 2013 with his wife and three children, who all enjoy taking advantage of the area’s outdoor opportunities.

Active in the community every place he has lived, Jim spent time raising need-based scholarship funding for early education programs, and working a program that refurbished housing in low-income areas.

Ian McSweeney

Executive Director of the Russell Farm and Forest Conservation Foundation (www.russellfound.org).  The Foundation works within New Hampshire with a focus of: (1) the conservation of farmland, (2) assisting landowners and farmers through a customized approach that focuses on securing access and tenure to farmland for farmers, and (3) supporting farm viability that focuses on sustainable holistic production.

Ian also sits on the Hillsborough County Conservation District, the Southern New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission, is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire Extension Coverts Program, is a member of the Board of Trustees of High Mowing School and participates in many farmland conservation and access and food system initiatives on the local, regional and national level.  Ian is a consultant to several national farmland conservation and organic food systems organizations and has been a member of several Boards and Commissions in his town.  Ian and his wife Liz: protected their own property with a conservation easement through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Wetland Reserve Program, actively manage their forest as a Certified Tree Farm, lease their farmland out to a local Certified Natural vegetable grower, keep bees, and spend as much time as possible enjoying the natural world with their two young boys.7/15

 Janet Ward (Secretary)

Janet is a retired teacher of philosophy and an educational consultant, she served as the founding director of The Scientist as Humanist Project, a professional development initiative offering training in the integrated teaching of the sciences and the humanities. She assisted in the development of three New Hampshire Humanities Council programs: Of Apples & Origins I: Stories of Life on Earth, and II: The Brain, the Mind and Human Meaning, and was Executive Producer of “Mind Talk: The Brain’s New Story,” a documentary. She worked on the development of the Council’s two year program “Shifting Ground: Religion and Civic Life in America” and was co-president of “Frontiers of Knowledge”, a Concord-based lecture series.
